White Council Not Dead, Just Sleeping?
Before I go on, I enjoyed Third Age. Just so you know the level of fanboyism that’s generating this optimism.
There is always hope, even if it is just a fool’s hope. Despite rumours last week that the game had been killed off by EA, last week’s 1UP Yours podcast said that EA were all “no comment” on White Council’s status, and now Next-Gen have gotten the same response.
If it’s dead, why not just announce it? Unless, that is, it’s not dead at all. The secrecy surrounding the future of the project gives us hope that despite losing its lead developer and key staff the title itself isn’t KIA, just…AWOL. Which would be good news: if we have to wait an extra 6-12 months for different staff to be brought onboard so the project can live, that’s preferable to seeing such a promising (at least on paper) title terminated outright.
